Between Walls and Whispers — The Ballad of Pondicherry

French photographer Lorraine Thiria, currently in artistic residency in Pondicherry, presents a special photographic series created through her quiet exploration of the city. Wandering its streets, observing its walls, facades, textures, and traces of time, she captures the subtle dialogue between memory and matter — the stories embedded in stone, surfaces, and silence.

Each image is an attempt to listen to what the city reveals gently: fragments of life, layers of history and the poetic presence of time itself. These photographs are not just documents of place, but impression living tableaux shaped by atmosphere, memory and emotion.

Created in collaboration with Alliance Française, this series has been specially prepared for exhibition at The Spot, inviting viewers to pause, look closely and experience Pondicherry through a contemplative and intimate lens.
